All this father wanted was to see his son, but attempts to visit him every weekend were in vain. The last time he saw his son was in February for half an hour.

Just went to the Family Court to make some enquiries and I really dislike the feeling of stepping into that place. It dampened my mood for the rest of the day. When I met up with some friends after that, most of them were unaware that I was not exactly ready to be teased, joke or laugh heartily. But I am grateful to the 1 or 2 more sensitive ones who do understand how difficult it is for us alienated parents.

Adriel, remember this old chicken rice restaurant at Upper Thomson Rd that we used to frequent together? You love the food there, especially their salad prawns : )
I avoided going there for a long time, it simply reminds me too much of you. But lately all thanks to a good friend who was willing to make a trip there with me, I was able to step into the restaurant once again to enjoy their good food. I still miss you son, but I thank God that it is not so hurtful for me anymore.

Just met up with another willing & able Singapore parent who is having difficulties with access to his children. Instead of taking steps to assist him bond with his children, the judge scrutinised other aspects of his life and character, and in the process delay and deprived him of his precious opportunities to see his children. It is nothing new that a judge handling the case does make a really huge difference to the outcome, they can either make or break a family. And it is sad that not all judges are as family oriented as they should be.

Here's a shirt given to some of us Singapore fathers by the Dads-For-Life group (MCYS) when we participated & gave feedbacks to their programs to promote parent & child bonding. The irony is that it is also the same shirt that I often wear to look for my son, but to no avail. People often ask me if MCYS has done enough to help the thousands of alienated Singapore parents who are still being deprived of their children every single day. I think the answer should be obvious.

Adriel, daddy is not sure if you had been following the elections, but like many other Singaporeans, we are all deeply concerned about our future, and where we stand in our own country. There are many policies and issues that affect our daily lives. But for me & all the other alienated parents in Singapore, we are pursuing for a different cause, one that we can never give up simply because we are fighting for all of you, our very own flesh & blood.. We will continue to raise the awareness of this Parental Alienation issue to an even higher level, so that more & more people will know the type of destruction that has been done to thousands of Singapore families and innocent children.. With so many of these people suffering every single day, its really time for the Singapore authorities to address this worldwide issue seriously.

Adriel, remember Safra Yishun Country Club? I avoided stepping into that place for many years as it reminds me too much of the tender moments me, u & mummy had together there.. But I guess I have gradually learnt to overcome that uneasy feeling as I went there for bowling with some friends a few days ago. We had a wonderful time, and it was especially heart-warming seeing my friends spend time with their children playing together. : )

Went to look up Adriel but he was not at home. I tried asking my ex mother-in-law if Adriel is still living there with them but she did not answer my question. Instead she just kept parroting "He is not at home! He is not at home!", before closing the door.

I am grateful to 2 of my good friends for accompanying me to look up my son. How I wish I can have some good news to share with them, and all my other friends who care..

A word of prayer for the hundreds/thousands of Singapore grandparents (and millions others worldwide) who cannot be with their grandchildren as a result of Parental Alienation continuing to be dominant in our society.
The saddest thing is that most of these grandparents may not ever get a chance to see their own grandchildren again... not even at their deathbed.
In many cases, the alienated children are also forbidded (by the alienating parents) to attend their grandparents' funeral..

I do not know if the authorities' ever feel anything for such sad events. They can organise all the "Grandparents Day" events they want, but they are obviously either forgetting or omitting a big group of old folks out there who need help more than anything else in the world to connect with their own grandchildren. God help us all..

This letter from an alienated child of a target parent (who is my FB friend) reminds me of something similar that happened to me 3 years ago.
I know of other target parents from Singapore also receiving such "notices" from their children's principal or the teacher out of the blue. I wonder what is MOE's (Ministry Of Education) stand on such matters.

Just met another 2 parents who were alienated from their children, it broke my heart to hear their stories.. This worldwide problem of PA is worsening everyday, with nothing effective being done to keep families connected.

Daddy met up with a friend today who related to me how he took his young daughter for a day of fun at the zoo, and it reminded me of the good times we spent there together when you were younger. Adriel, I carry this photo with me all the time, I can't miss it whenever I use my wallet everyday... Though it can be hard sometimes to look at the photo, I am sure many other alienated parents do the same. Adriel, though daddy is still being deprived from access time with you, I was happy to learn that one of my FB friends, uncle Chris Sims from UK, is at last making contact with his alienated children a few days ago. This picture speaks a thousand words and I can really sense their joy from the smiles on their faces. And even though they have to wait another 6 months to see one another again, it was a special day that all of them will never forget... God is good all the time. Daddy has faith that He will reunite all the parents and children one day : )

I think as adults we should all recognize that children have a right to both parents, and will almost always benefit from access to both parents. And no matter how ugly the dispute between the adults is, we should not make our children hostage or bargaining chips. I'd like to point out that breaches in access orders are punishable as a contempt of court, which may lead to a fine or imprisonment. Just as we expect the men to pay maintenance arrears, women should also comply fully with access orders issued by the court."

It was a lonely Christmas without my son. Though I did not get the best Christmas gift (to be with Adriel), I thank God for the newspaper article was published on Christmas Eve as it has helped to raise public awareness on this injustice on many parents and innocent children.

2010 has been a tough year for many of us target parents, but we are blessed to have so many people here on FB praying for us & cheering us on. I believe God put us through these trials for a reason; besides fighting to be with our children, we have the responsibility to highlight this Parental Alienation issue to the masses. It is an emotional child abuse to use children as pawns to deprive them of one of their parents, no child should be made to go through this mental torture.

Lets continue to fight against this child abuse in 2011, our children deserve better

Adriel, though we have been deprived of access and contacts for many weeks, daddy has not given up trying to reach you.

Like all alienated children, I know you have been compelled and influenced to stop displaying any affection for daddy and all my relatives. But I have never stopped praying for hearts to be softened.. and rest assured that daddy will always be here for you.

A target parent once wrote : “When alienators use your child as a pawn to deprive you, it affects you and you struggle to survive, like how you gasp for air when out of breath. Your 'struggling' actions will then be misintepreted by others as you are ‘stubbornly insisting in your ways’ to see your child, and that your ‘aggressiveness are only making things worse’. And when you hear well-meaning people asking you to ‘let it go, for the sake of your child’, you know the alienators have achieved their goals of indirectly using others to discourage you and undermine your parenting role. Alienators are being given the empowerment to cause severe damage to the relationships with your child, as well as to brainwash and influence ANYONE to make you give up, including the courts and those around you.”
